- Watch receipt dates carefully. If a receipt includes a separate “expiration” or “no returns after” date that could confuse the scan, I draw one line through that date while keeping it readable.
- Be patient with cash-outs. In my experience, waiting for a larger reward can give a better value for the coins used.
- Keep expectations realistic. I view this as a small-money program, not a major income source.
My Verdict
Would I recommend Receipt Hog? Yes. It’s easy, it fits naturally into shopping I’m already doing, and I’ve received real rewards from it. The amounts are small, but that’s exactly how I judge programs like this: if it’s free, takes very little time, and eventually puts a little extra money in my pocket, I think it can be worthwhile.
